What is abstract nature? It is more than you think at first. Of course, abstract nature art is a form of art that incorporates elements of nature, such as landscapes, plants and other natural phenomena, but it is not represented in a realistic or representational manner. The use of abstraction in nature art allows Katie to express raw feelings and emotions, rather than simply depicting a literal representation of the subject. It is about the internal experience of nature, rather than an objective representation of the natural world. Katie uses abstract elements, such as colour, form, shape, and texture, to convey the essence of the natural subject matter. She uses the natural subject matter as a starting point and then uses her imagination and abstract techniques to create a unique and personal interpretation of the subject.

“When life felt overwhelming, it was the natural world that provided me with a sense of peace and calm.

I found solace in taking walks through the forest, feeling the sun on my skin, and breathing in the fresh air. It was as if the natural world was reaching out to me, offering comfort and hope.

This connection with nature has inspired my work, and has become a source of light in my life. I use my art to capture the essence of nature and all its wonders, from the reflections of water on rock to the textures of bark and lichen. It's as if I am taking a piece of that light and hope with me, and sharing it with others through my work.

In short, nature has been a lifesaver for me. It has offered me hope, comfort, and inspiration, and I am grateful for its transformative power. I hope that my work can bring a little piece of that light and hope into others' lives and homes, too.”

Colour psychology also plays a big role in Katie’s work to convey different emotions and feelings. Cool colours such as blue and green can be used to create a sense of calm and serenity, while warm colors such as red and orange can evoke feelings of energy and excitement. The use of contrasting colors can also be used to create a sense of depth and movement in the painting.

The possibilities for creating an abstract representation of nature are endless.
